Amidon Ballistic Concrete® has a proven track record of field implementation at scale in some of the most austere conditions imaginable. Very few firms have built as many structures under these conditions.
This project included the design, fabrication, installation, and testing, of 22 live fire buildings comprised of over 4,200 ballistic wall panels and 18,000 target blocks. The entire project was completed in 270 days, which is considerable considering the added complexity of a remote environment, harsh terrain, and challenging weather conditions.
Amidon designed and built this sub-terranean (Sub-T) facility to train a variety of military, law enforcement, and other security forces with realistic live-fire scenarios. This Sub-T facility project took all of four months from the first design meeting to fabrication. Installations like this allow those who protect us to train for the unexpected.
Amidon developed an entire multi-functional urban complex capable of supporting conventional, SOF, individual, collective, IED training, and joint live-fire exercises. Particularly noteworthy is the ability of the complex to accommodate a full spectrum of operations ranging from low intensity conflict to vehicle borne improvised explosive devices, suicide bombers, and explosive formed penetrators, among others. Importantly, this complex can support simultaneous commitment of all forces on a single complex urban objective.
